My FUTURE

Adam shared this with me.

from Kanye University.

Get in There

So yesterday Jake, Chris, Adam, and I headed out for a 56 mile loop from capitol hill down to Renton back up to Issaquah and then returning to Seattle. It started on a bad note, for while getting ready jakes tube in his spin popped. Then 15 mi into the ride we met up with Hugh, a friend of Adam's who is a great rider, and jakes tubular on his mavic was super low. Turns out the old tubie had a shitty valve, so Jake ended up walkin 15 miles back home. (Chris and I bought him vegan cookies to make up for leaving him, but the RIDE MUST GO ON.) Also Jake named this ride "Get in there" because apparently chris said that to him. So... from now on we are going to have a title for each right.

Back to the ride.  My legs felt really weak the whole way, and about 25 mi in I realized that I was pretty much already BONKING.  So I just did my best to push through it. It was a really really tough day for me. It was frustrating to say the least. I really need to work on my nutrition before, during, and after the rides.

Also about a mile from home I skidded through my tire and got a flat. So I just rode it home.

I will post some pics that Jake took after he uploads them.

THE WORST

This was the worst thing ever. Someone unscrewed the cap before I used it, and BLAM parmesan everywhere!

Designing

I am always amazing at home much more goes into making something that you think. Take making a shirt for example. Even if it is a pre made pattern that you are using, you have fabric, buttons, thread, collar, sleeve length, dying, and TAGS. Yes tags, I never even though of that.

Newho Big things a coming for me, and the blackbird family...

The Best

I cannot express how great these videos are. The newest one which was added today, perfectly demonstrates the teamwork that goes into pro cycling.

Please watch these videos and support any riders who are trying to do cycling as a profession.

Future Tense Post Ride

Go to Jake's Flickr to check out some more great photos (not just cycling either).

Missing the Giro

I just found this site that has great coverage of the Giro d'Italia.

Universal Sports

Awesome coverage. Today is rest day, for both myself and the Giro. I am definitely tired after my riding this weekend, but more so because of the amount of sleep I got. NONE.  Waking up at 445 each day definitely takes its toll, however it allows me to be up early to ride on the weekend before work.

I am planning on getting a Cannondale SuperSix Hi-Mod Team edition when it comes out this July.  The plan is to build that with Red Groupo and Edge wheels.

I love Adam's build with the ITM bars and stem, and would like to have that as well.

Back to watching the Giro that I have missed.

Great Videos

The new Cervélo Test team is being followed and filmed for the Beyond the Peloton series. So far they have released 3 HD short videos with a behind the scenes look into what it takes to be a pro cyclist, a pro mechanic, or to be owning a pro cycling team. It has some great interviews and is wonderfully shot. It is nice to see this sort un-media driven cycling. You get to see the pros true personalities as well as some great wind tunnel testing.

Cervélo is up to something with this, and I am addicted.

Enjoy.

Amazing

Got this off Molly Cameron's blog.
He got it from daily motion.

Lets Begin

Chris and I have begun doing some real riding, be it on track bikes, and I have decided to document and LOG our rides.
(Keep in mind this does not include our daily commuting with can be upwards of 25 miles. These are just straight rides.

So far we have done,
35mi 5/10 Alkai/Fauntleroy Loop
42mi 5/16 Alkai/Fauntleroy Extension Loop
53mi 5/17 Capitol Hill around Lake washington, one lap around Mercer Island.

We are both planning on getting road bikes as soon as possible. I am looking at getting a Pinarello Paris, and Chris is really into the Cervelo R3.

We took a ride with Adam Sinding of 21Arrondissement. It was great to get out and ride with a roadie. His new BMC ProMachine SLC01 is amazing.

Anywho, Ill keep posting more as more happens.

Until then, ride fast and ride safe.
